Bug Jam 33 Report:
Come rain or shine, you Bug Jammers sure know how to party! We experienced all weathers this weekend, from the hottest day on record on Thursday to some summertime rain on Sunday; despite all this that festival vibe was still in the air as tents went up, flags got hoisted and those barbies were lit! Our glorious British weather didn’t dampen your spirits – you hardcore Bug Jammers still partied the nights away and enjoyed all the action we had lined up! We salute you!
The Main Stage kicked off the weekends evening entertainment with Band Theft Audio followed by The Spitfires with headliner ASH; The Dance Zone showcased Retro Reunion bringing us the best and biggest club hits to dance to until the early hours featuring Pied Piper and Sweet Female Attitude; we got our swing on over in the Retro Zone with The Electric Swing Circus preceded by C@ in the H@ and Mr Tea and the Minions; plus VJ Gary and his karaoke set had us partying all night long over in Fuelers Bar.
The Live Action Arena was running all weekend with mind-blowing performances from the death-defying Terry Grant and Lee Bowers with their legendary stunts plus Monster Truck mayhem from Podzilla and Swamp Thing as well as the retro Drift Beetle.
Celebrating 30 Years on the VW scene at Santa Pod Raceway, The Cool Flo Arena pulled out all the stops this year to celebrate the occasion with an amazing display of show cars, ‘Back to 89’ special display (new for 2019), old school BMX, banging beats from ‘Slippers the Split’ DJ Bus and of course, the awesome Cool Flo ramp.
New for 2019; the unique and welcoming Magic Teapot kept people refreshed and rested with endless tea and fireside merriness, Granny Turismo burnt some shopping trolley rubber round site with giggles and top tunes a plenty plus the vibrant and eclectic variety performances on stage provided the perfect daytime entertainment.
On Saturday afternoon, Bug Jam 33 hosted Bug Jam’s Got Talent where it was the audience’s chance to be the stars of the show. We saw a fantastic range of performances with singers, guitarists and dancers. It was a tough decision for the judges this year with some serious talent to choose from; in the end, it was Jenny Kelly who took the prize and the trophy wither stunning rendition of Adele’s Hello. Well done Jenny!

It was then time for the main man himself; Platinum selling EXAMPLE took to the stage with a crowd of thousands waiting in anticipation for hits such as ‘Changed the Way You Kissed Me’ and ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’ – the party was well and truly underway!
